The Vessel And The Veil: Book 1

They hanged him at dawn. Crown-blessed, flame-sanctified, and buried in a traitor’s grave.

Once a hero. Branded a traitor. Now, Caelen Coale claws his way out of a shallow grave with mysterious power and no name left to clear. Across a continent gripped by zealotry, broken alliances, and ancient rites, powers stir—some divine, some ancient and forgotten, and some that should have stayed buried.

As kingdoms fracture beneath the weight of prophecy and political rot, whispers spread of a man risen from the dead. Some whisper savior, others heretic.

But in a world where truth is rewritten and memory weaponized, what rises from the grave may be neither.

It may be a catalyst.

This is not the return of a hero. It is the unearthing of a war.

My History

Before I ever wrote a novel, I was shaping stories with dice, paint, and imagination.

I spent years deep in tabletop and video game worlds — leading D&D campaigns, writing grim backstories, and hand-painting miniatures until they felt like something pulled from a battlefield. I’ve always been drawn to medieval history and dark fantasy, to the harsh edges of folklore and the quiet weight of myth. I was the guy building maps when no one asked, rewriting stat blocks to make things bleed, and crafting villains that weren’t just monsters — they were human.

Gaming wasn’t just a pastime — it was training. Every encounter, every homebrew spell, every video game bad guy vanquished and every painted helm was part of learning how to make worlds feel real. And eventually, those worlds demanded more than a table. They wanted pages.

So here I am — still building, still crafting, just with different tools.

My Story

I write dark, character-driven fantasy rooted in broken thrones, cursed oaths, and the long shadows of forgotten gods. My work is where political decay meets cosmic dread — where blades carry history, and no crown sits clean.

For me, storytelling is a hobby rooted in themes of the real world. Every scene I write is sharpened by years of building campaigns, crafting lore, and losing myself in worlds where the fire’s dying and the silence means something. I don’t chase clean heroics or noble quests — I write what happens after. When the myths rot.

These are the kinds of stories I’ve always wanted to read. Now I forge them myself.
